Parish of Kettle -- Plan 17A Junction Trace

Site of Lathrisk Church and Grave Yard [Note] Lathrisk was the ancient name of this parish - (see quotation from Leightons Hist [History] on opposite page) "Church & Grave yard" usually written together.
After the church was transferred from Lathrisk to the village of Kettle the parish name was also changed from Lathrisk to that of Kettle, therefore the proper name of the church is Lathrisk Church. Although it is written chapel by the examiner yet there can be no doubt that it is the chapel noted in Leightons Hist of Fife. -see quotation.

Ordnance Survey - Fife and Kinross counties

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the counties of Fife in the east of Scotland and Kinross in central Scotland. The boundaries of these counties were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
