An endowed school erected in 1850 out of funds left by Robert Philp Esqr. who by a deed of settlement dated 1820 (after enumerating several legacies) directed that "Two eighth parts of shares of the yearly income or interest arising from the remainder of his means & estate should be [obscured in fold] & expended yearly in educating 100 children in the town [and] Parish of Kirkcaldy."From the increased value of the property the number of the children now in the school is 125. A general English education is taught. It is situated at the Junction of Thistle street with Charlotte Street |
