022.15 | This is the Parish Church of KnocKando, Situated in the north Side of the Church Yard and upon the top of a Steep Slopping feature and about 5 Ch. [Chains] N. [North] of the Co. [County] Road. Above the church door is a Stone Marked MDCCLVII or 1757 The date, it is Said, on which the Church was built On the Same Stone if also another inscription P.O.M.X 1415. The Church is Supplied with the old gray flag for Slating although the roofing and the Walls are the original the interior having received repairs at different periods. The Church is Still in good condition a hollow feature among the graves abt [about] 70 Links South ward is Said to be the Site of the former Church, date of its erection is not known - it is said to have been an ordinary thatched building |
