[Situation] In Queen Street adjoining Philosophical Institution A large plain Structure erected by voluntary Subscription & contains the Synod Hall and Divinity college of the United Presbyterian church there are 5 professors & a librarian & three officers of different departments. This hall is well fitted up with galleries, pews, &c, sufficient to accommodate 1000 persons with seats This Hall is occupied on sundays as a place of worship, or church by St. LuKe's Free Church [congregation] untill this congregation gets a church erected which is now in progress completion & will be finished [in a] few weeKs. |
