A large building of the Elizabethan Style of architecture three to four Stories high just now in progress of completion ornamented with turrets &c. The expense for the building and endowment of the hospital was bequeathed by Daniel Stewart Esqr. a native of Perth who died in Edinburgh in 1812 and the money so bequeathed having increased in 1847 to £100,000 the building was then commenced and is now nearly completed. |
