[Situation] On the west side of the village of Dean and about 14 chains W by N. [West by North] of Sunbury Distillery. A neat edifice of the Gothic Style of Architecture erected 1836 and to accommodate the population of the village of Water of Leith and its vicinity It is well fitted up with galleries &c. having sittings sufficient to accommodate a congregation of 975 there are no free sittings but some of the sittings are let a nominal rent & none are excluded who cannot pay. The minister is the Rev [Reverend] J. BirKmire whose stipend is £80 Annum. |
