These works were establi [established] in 1750 by a Co. [Company] from Edinbro [Edinburgh] No. [Number] of hands employed averages abo [about] 400. "Manufactory" is the property term to be written on plan not works. It is called "Sail-cloth manufactory" in the new Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account] of Co.
