[South] from E [East] Warriston House A large public pleasure garden tastefully arranged laid in flower plots, bowberry greens, Terraces, gravel walKs &c It consists of about 3½ acres in the centre of the garden is a large Inn or public House of which refreshments of various Kinds are provided including British & foreign liquors. It is much resorted to in Summer time as a place of public amusement & is generally rendered a more attractive by exhibitions of different Kinds, Sometimes in winter time threre are occasional exhibitions of Fire worKs &c. during the evenings. Adjoining the public garden there also a private garden of about the same extent which is also attached to the Inn. Occupied by Mr. Gourlay. The property of Mrs Veitch Piccardy Place Edinburgh. |
