| CHOIR Remains of St Nicholas's Kirk [Dalkeith] | Choir | Steele's Stat acct [Statistical account] of the Parish of DalKeith | Under the head of Antiquities - it is mentioned in the Stat Acct [Statistical Account] - that the principal object in the parish entitled to notice under the head of antiquities is the ancient choir attached to the parish Church. It is 44 feet long by 27 feet wide and is built in a more ornamental style than the body of the church. It contains within its area the Statues of one of the Earls of Morton and his lady, reclining on a pedestal. It has long been unroofed, but it is worthy of careful preservation as a venerable relic of the olden time. |

Ordnance Survey - Midlothian county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Midlothian, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
