Parish of Fala and Soutra
Although the parishes of Fala and Soutra are long united and forming
one parish yet still the two districts which formerly were seperate parishes are
still known by there respective names. This is in a great measure owing
to the county boundary forming a division line through the united parish
which line formerly divided them into seperate parishes. The name
Fala is therefore written in parenthesis underneath the name of the united
parish to the part which is called "Fala" and "Soutra" is written in like
manner to Soutra. ____________

Ordnance Survey - Midlothian county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Midlothian, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
