011 | A stream gathering upon the farms of Eastside, Logan House and Bavelaw, running in a south easterly course enters the Edinburgh Water Company's Reservoir below Logan House. previous to this for a short way it forms the boundary of the Parishes of Penicuik and Kirknewton. After issuing from the Reservoir it takes the name of "Glencross Burn" till its junction with the North Esk. The scenery upon its margin whilst flowing through "Logan House" farm is thought by some to coincide with that painted by Allen Ramsay in his pastoral "The Gentle Shepherd". |
