A large and plain built edifice, erected in 1844 at a cost of about £1700. The interior is well fitted out with pews &c, no gallery, and affords accommodation for about 1000 persons. The present incumbent is the Rev. [Reverend] W. Ferguson whose stipend amounts to about £130 from the sustentation fund beside being supplimented by the congregation. The ground flat of this church is appropriated as a school room average number of scholars are about 100, who are taught the ordinary branches of education taught in English schools. The school master is Mr. McLaren whose salary is £20 beside school fees. |
