[Situation] North East of the City of Edinburgh A parish Situated at the N E [North East] Side of the City of Edinburgh. It is bounded on the N E [North East] by the Firth of Forth On the South by Duddingston & Canongate; and on the west by the parishes of the City of Edinburgh, St. Cuthberts, and North Leith, The parish includes, besides it landward district Calton hill, parts of Calton, and Canongate, Abbeyhill, Norton Place, the east Side of Leith WalK, JocKs Lodge, Restalrig and the whole town of South Leith. The parish is a Collegiate Charge in the Presbytery of Edinburgh and Synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. |
