A river flowing through the centre of Dumfriesshire from North to South And forming the Northern boundary of this Parish. It rises in the Mountains where the Shires of Dumfries, Lanark and Peebles touch each other in Moffat Ph [Parish] and after a course of about 30 miles falls into the Solway Firth where it forms a small estuary. |
