056 | [Situation] At Sn [Southern] extremity of this Parish Applies to a Single feature of Lochar Moss comprising the Southern Extremity of the Parish, Torthorwald, Bounded on the West by Lochar Water, and Strips of meadows, On the East by Wath Burn on the North by the village Rucks and Glasgow & South Western Railway between which are patches of Reclaimed Moss, on the South it terminates in a point in [MD] junction with the Parish Caerlaverock. Mr Alexander Grierson is the present Proprietor. The name is well known and very frequently applied. The term Flow is applied to various portions of Lochar Moss viz Craigs Flow (in Dumfries Ph Parish]) Mouswald Flow in Mouswald Ruthwell Flow in Ruthwell And so forth Rockhall is the name of the estate to which the above name belongs.
