The site of a Tower situated between Moffat House and the Bath Rooms, It is not Known at what period this fortress was erected, and none of its walls are now standing; but notice of its existence is taken in history. It was inhabited in 1748 In 1535 Act was passed for building these Strong holds on the Borders of Scotland part of the building was square another formed a tower, they are named Pelis, now called Peel or border tower. |
