It takes its name from one Cock or O'cock a noted freebooter in feudal times possessed a wild and st[] fame and now affords matter for local tradition. It is supposed that the tower called Cockie's [] stood somewhere near this house. Not a vestige of this tower is to be seen , nor can its site be pointed out, all the information that can be obtained concerning its situation is that it is supposed to be hereabouts. |
