'The Nipes' - This is the spelling under the Various Modes of Spelling. As written in the List of Names as written on the Plan (and ticked) it should be 'The Knypes' NB: It has been mis-spelt as pre-entered (The Knipes) and not yet corrected. It is spelt 'The Knypes' on Sheet XX (towards bottom left corner). There is a hill called 'The Knipe' ca. 5km SE of New Cumnock.
