A large woollen mill situated at the south side of Kingholm Quay, it is three stories in height and in good repair. the machinery with which it is fitted, is of the most modern and improved description and is wrought by Steem. The average number of hands employed are about 150 including Wool pickers Spinners, weaver Cloth dresses &c. The principal trade is the Manufactory of cloth for trousers, Plaids [Pilots] &c. This Mill is the property of Robert Scott Esqr. of Kingholm Quay. Near it is a bone mill for grinding bone dust for manure & is also the property of R. Scott Esqr. |
