063 | [Situation] On the boundary between Annan and Dornock. -- A large stone about three feet long, two feet wide and about one foot thick, built into a bank a little to the west of Upper Woodhead. It is said to contain three holes and that to that circumstance it owes its name. There are no holes visible on the exposed side, the other side is completely built up, so I could not ascertain whether it contained any holes or not. --- From the appearance and size of several stones built into the banks near the place, it is quite evident that they have been removed from the Druidical Temple said to have been on this spot. "The Stone in which a wooden Cross formerly stood, also, still remains; it was called St Marjory's Cross, to whom traditions says the Church itself was dedicated".
