038 | A small green mound, situated about a quarter of a mile west of the ford of Auchedly. Mr Norrie says that when a boy at school his curiosity led him to dig into this mound like place, and that at different times he found pieces of bones, urns. His parents did not approve of his disturbing what they thought was not canny to meddle with. About the same time two of his father's horses took ill and died of "Staggers", but the old people considered the opening of the mound the principle cause of the horses death! |
