021 | "Druidical circles appear to have been more than usually numerous in the parish of Deer. According to the old Statistical Account of Scotland, Vol. XVI, [Volume 16] p [page] 481 (Edin [Edinburgh] 1795) there were, a few years previous to that date, the remains of upwards of a dozen within its boundary. That on the hill of Parkhouse was then the most entire, and is now one of the very few that the utilitarian hand of improvement has spared. The diameter of the space enclosed by the inner circle is forty-eight feet. Only four of the upright stones now remain, and are from fourteen to seventeen feet apart.
