The present church and manse are situate upon the South bank of the Ythan; about five miles from the Northern; five and a half from the Eastern three from the Southern, and two from the Western boundary of the Parish The church was rebuilt in 1780 and the manse in 1806." Since then a new church and manse have been built. Besides the parish School, there are three Adventure or un-endowed Schools, where the ordinary branches of education are taught. At Cairnorrie about three miles distant from the parish School, the Earl of Aberdeen has just erected a neat and commodious school, which it is intended to place on the Establishment. At Inverebrie on the very verge of the parish, and nearly six miles from the church, there is another school [Continued on page 7] |
