031 | While Mr. Henderson of Nether Savock was excavating a dry hillock in 1840, and at a short distance from the Surface, he discovered a Stone coffin measuring about three feet in length, by about twenty inches in breadth and about one & a half feet in depth; inside of which was an Urn, rudely ornamented, containing unctuous matter. It measures about six inches in diameter, and is about eight inches in depth, and is at present in the Peterhead Museum. [Sketch] This Cist was lying east and west. |
