084 | A small, but powerful spring situated on the farm of Westhill, at the eastern extremity of the Loch of Drum, and a short distance from the margin thereof. By local tradition we are informed that, King Robert, the Bruce who, it seems, frequently hunted in the Forest of Drum, and, as a matter of course, was always foremost in the chase, allayed his thirst at this Spring. Hence the name. |

Ordnance Survey - Aberdeen county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Aberdeen, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
