045 | In the year 1832, James Marr a laborer in Daviot, dug up at this spot a Battle-axe, supposed to have been a relic of the celebrated Battle of Harlaw. It is in the possession of John MacKenzie Esq. of Glack, but is now so much corroded as to be past recognition as a weapon or instrument of any sort. It was from James Marr's description that the Minister of the Parish wrote his notice of it in the Statistical Account of Aberdeenshire. |

Ordnance Survey - Aberdeen county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Aberdeen, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
