107 | A large loch about 2 miles long & half a mile broad situated at the head of Glenmuick. In some places it is shallow; in others it is said to be more than 40 fathoms deep. Its temperature is cold, even in the greatest heat of summer, being fed by several mountain streams besides Allt an Dubh-Loch. Towards the west end of it, there is a small island, on which seagulls are always found. |
