043 | The stones belonging to this Ancient place of worship, have long ago disappeared, and corn now grows on the site. There were about five hundred load of small boulders trenched out of the ground here, & were used for filling up drains. It is commonly known by the name of the "Sunken Kirk", and tradition states, that, when some men were playing at cards here, the ground sunk in with them. |

043 | Near to the above circle an Urn was dug up about 25 years ago containing unctuous matter & burned bones. It measured about 18 inches in depth & about 15 inches in diameter & was ornamented round the top part. Half of it can been seen at the farm of Tofthills. |
