075 | Continued Industrial Asylum & Reformatory for Girls - for life to vote at all Meetings of the Subscribers, and shall render him eligible as a Director. A Subscription of not less than 5s [shillings] shall Confer such right and Eligibility for one Year The officers of the Institution are a Treasurer. a Secretary. a Matron. and a Medical Attendant. who are all appointed by the Directors, along with such. assistants. and Servants as the Directors. from time to time may appoint or direct to be appointed. In case of any Girl sent to the Institution under Judical warrant. it is necessary for the Procurator-Fiscal or Magistrate. by application to the Secretary. to obtain the previous Consent of the Director or any one to whom they may delegate the Power of granting such Consent on their behalf. Voluntary Inmates [may] be admitted either on Payment of the same weekly sum as is paid for Inmates under warrant i.e. [id est - that is] 6s [shillings] per week (per government allowance ---) or on such other terms as the Directors may think Proper. It is desirable that all Girls be sent for five Years. as they Can be dicharged before the expiry of the Period of detention, if they behave well. The Institution is licensed for Sixty but at present the number of imates is twenty Eight. The efficiency of Education, training and General management is generally acknowledged and Especially by the Revd. [Reverend] Sydney Turner. Her Majesty's Inspector of Reformato [Reformatories] in his annual reports; The building is situated in Mount Street. and is a beautiful Edifice, with spacious ornamental ground etc adjoining, And was established in 1862. |
