When viewing records, you can use features in the image viewer to change how the record is displayed.

You can see these by selecting ‘Image controls’ at the top of the image viewer. 

Zoom

Zoom in or out buttons are available under ‘Image controls’.

PCs or laptops

Hover over the image and use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out.

With the mouse or touch pad, you can also:

• double-click the left button to zoom in

• double- click the right button to zoom out

Mobile

Place two fingers on the screen near each other. Spread them apart to zoom in or move them toward each other to zoom out.

You can also double-tap to zoom in.

Grab and drag

Left click and hold on the mouse or touch pad to hold the image and move its position on the screen.

Mobile

Touch and hold the image to move its position on the screen.

Contrast

Slide the bar from side to side to adjust the contrast of the image.

Brightness

Slide the bar from side to side to brighten or darken the image.

Rotate

Rotate the image 90 degrees clockwise. Select it again to rotate the image further.

Fit height

Fit the image to the height of the online viewer, making it fit within the box vertically.

Fit width

Stretch the image to fit the width of the online viewer, making it fit within the box horizontally.

Crop

Select ‘Crop’ then select the area you want to crop and select ‘Apply’.

To return from the cropped view, select back in your browser.

Invert

Swap the image colours, so light colours appear dark, and dark colours appear light. To return to the original image, select 'Invert' again.

New window

Open single images in a new browser window or tab. You can then view the image in your browser.

Full screen

Display the image as full screen. To return to the normal size image, select the 'full screen' icon again or press the ‘Esc’ key.
