Answers: The accused were James Hamilton of woodhall and Robert friebairne, Johne Hill, Thomas miller, Johne Lindsay, Thomas cullane, Alex[ande]r Stene, Jo[h]n cullene and Johne Hall. Jo[h]n Stewinstoun and Ro[ber]t dalzell of newtoun were both to be cautioners s ("one who becomes security for another", Dictionary of Scots Language).
