The justice deputs be the mouth of henrie Monteith dempster of court
decerned and adjudged the said Johne Ridpeth upon wednesday nixt the tent[h] of
this instant betuixt elevin and twelve houres befoir noone to be scourged be
the hand of the comon hangman throw the toune of Edinburgh from the Castelhill
to the netherbow Burnt on the cheik with the tounes comon mark and banished
the kingdome with certifica[tio]n if he returns that he shall incurr the paynes
of death Which was given and pronounced for dome
