This poser is taken from a letter of the Baillies of Anstruther to the Privy Council of Scotland, 1620 (Crown copyright National Records of Scotland PC10/12/35, page 12). It concerns a ship arriving in the Firth of Forth in July of the same year.
The hand is fairly regular. Note the use of the abbreviation for the word Lords, consisting of two diagonal lines and a double-l , looking something like this: / ll /. It first occurs in line 4. Also watch out for the letters thorn and yogh, ligature letters and interferences.

Questions: what was the ship's cargo and why was the crew anxious to land?
