This poser is an extract from the Old Parish Register for Pencaitland (Crown copyright, National Records of Scotland, 716/00 0010 00). It lists the baptisms on 19 April 1600.
The parish clerk is fairly consistent in the way he formed his letters, but watch out for interference between one line and another and between elaborate letters (especially capitals) and their neighbours. Note the fully-formed secretary hand letters a and c, with their diagonal strokes.
