A town in Zeeland, in the Netherlands. Veere was the staple port for exports to northern Europe between 1541 and 1799 and the Scots community there had its own kirk, court and various legal and commercial privileges. It was sometimes referred to as Campheir, Campvere, Campveer and variations of these.
