Sorobie kirk session
A Church of Scotland quoad sacra parish. It sat within the presbytery of Mull, later of Lorn and Mull, and the synod of Argyll. The island of Tiree was divided of old between two parishes, Kirkapol covering the north-eastern area and Sorobie the south-west, and in 1618 these two parishes, along with that of Coll, were united. A chapel was later built at Heylipol during the nineteenth century to serve the southern part of Tiree, (Heylipol being a more accessible location than Sorobie) and in 1875 the parish of Heylipol (or Sorobie) was once more disjoined from Kirkapol and erected as a separate parish quoad sacra.
