Tarbolton Free kirk session

A secession church court. It began as a Free Church congregation in 1843. At first it was associated with Stair, but a separate charge sanctioned in 1861. Between 1891 and 1896 it was reduced to a preaching station. The congregation passed to the United Free Church in 1900 as Tarbolton - St John's, which united with Tarbolton - Erskine in 1904 as Tarbolton (United Free). The united congregation then passed to the Church of Scotland, as Tarbolton - Erskine, in 1929, and united again with Tarbolton - Old as Tarbolton in 1943.
