Edinburgh - Restalrig (quoad sacra) kirk session

A Church of Scotland quoad sacra parish. It sat within the presbytery of Edinburgh and the synod of Lothian and Tweeddale. Prior to the Reformation, the church of Restalrig was a collegiate parish church. After the first General Assembly of the Reformed church in 1560, however, the church fell into disuse. As a consequence, the official place of worship for the district of Restalrig was designated by Act of Parliament as St Mary's in Leith in 1609. A church in Restalrig was rebuilt in 1837. It initially acted as chapel of ease for the parish of South Leith. Edinburgh Restalrig was disjoined as a quoad sacra parish from South Leith in 1912.
