Selkirk presbytery
A higher court of the Church of Scotland. Selkirk presbytery was erected in 1581. It was in the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. The seat of the presbytery was moved to Melrose between 1607 and 1640. Several parishes were disjoined to form the presbytery of Earlston in 1619.
