SCOTTISH CABINET : 3RD ADMINISTRATION : CABINET SUB-COMMITTEE, SEER

SEER, from the former name Scottish Executive Emergency Room, is a coordination facility of the Scottish Government run by a sub-committee of the Scottish Cabinet. It is activated in cases of national emergency or crisis, or during events abroad with major implications for Scotland and the wider British Isles. The sub-committee was renamed 'The Scottish Government Resilience Room (SGoRR)' in February 2008. The 3rd Administration refers to the Scottish National Party (SNP) minority Scottish Government, which was elected at the third Scottish Parliament election on 3 May 2007. The Scottish Executive was renamed the Scottish Government in 2007.
