SCOTTISH CABINET : 3RD ADMINISTRATION : CABINET SECRETARY FOR JUSTICE
The position of Minster for Justice was created in 1999. The Minister had responsibility for justice issues, including some of the roles and functions of the former Scottish Office Minister of State for Home Affairs that existed prior to 1999. Following the 2007 election the position was renamed Cabinet Secretary for Justice. The 3rd Administration refers to the Scottish National Party (SNP) minority Scottish Government, which was elected at the third Scottish Parliament election on 3 May 2007. The Scottish Executive was renamed the Scottish Government in 2007.
