Rutherglen - West kirk session

A Church of Scotland quoad sacra parish. It sat within the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr, later of Clydesdale. The parish originated as a chapel of ease in 1836. As a consequence of the Disruption in 1841, which saw the minister and congregation leave the established church, the church building was closed. With the appointment of a minister and disjunction from Rutherglen, the parish was resumed in 1857 as the quoad sacra parish Rutherglen West.
