Newton Stewart Reformed Presbyterian kirk session

A secession church court. It began as a Reformed Presbyterian congregation in 1796. In 1876 it adhered to the Free Church as Newton Stewart. The congregation passed to the United Free Church, as Newton Stewart Rutherford, in 1900, and it united with Newton Stewart Creebridge, as Newton Stewart Trinity in 1909. This in turn united with Newton Stewart York Road as Newton Stewart St John's United Free in 1926. The congregation then passed to the Church of Scotland in 1929.
