Old Monkland kirk session
A church court that sat within the presbytery of Hamilton and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr. It was known anciently as Baldernoch. In 1640, the parish of Monkland was divided into two, to form Old and New Monkland. The parish of Old Monkland contained the area of Coatbridge and later became known as Coatbridge Old Monkland.Records available
