Airdrie - South Bridge Street Second United Associate, Relief, United Presbyterian, United Free, Church of Scotland
A secession church court. It began as a Second United Associate Congregation which was an offshoot from Newarthill Antiburgher Church. A petition for disjunction was made to Glasgow Secession Presbytery in 1833. In 1841, during a vacancy, the congregation voted to transfer from the Secession Church to the Relief Church and successfully petitioned the Relief Presbytery of Glasgow for adherence. It passed successively to the United Presbyterian Church and, in 1900, to the United Free Church, in the latter case as Airdrie South Bridge Street. It became a Church of Scotland parish in 1929 and was dissolved in 1973.
