Monquhitter kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Turriff and the synod of Aberdeen. The parish of Monquitter was disjoined from Turiff in 1649 and the first minister was ordained and inducted on 1st August 1650. The congregation used a building gifted by William Cumine of Auchy and Pittullie, until a church was erected in 1764. Part of the parish was removed in 1858 to form part of the quoad sacra parish of Millbrex.
