Maxton kirk session
A church court that sat within the presbytery of Selkirk, later of Melrose, later of Melrose and Peebles, and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. Established following the Reformation in 1560 with ministry recorded from then. Prior to the Reformation, the church belonged to the Abbey of Dryburgh.
