Makerstoun kirk session
A church court that sat within the presbytery of Kelso, later of Jedburgh and Kelso, later of Jedburgh again, and the synod of Merse and Teviotdale. A church, which was rebuilt on a new site in 1807, and which had formerly belonged to the monks of Kelso, is know to have existed at Makerstoun from as early as the 12th century.
