Lochgoilhead and Kilmorich kirk session

A church court that sat within the presbytery of Dunoon and the synod of Argyll. The separate parishes of Lochgoilhead and Kilmorich were united before the sixteenth century. The church of Lochgoilhead was formerly a prebend of Lismore belonging to the Archdeacon of Argyll and the church of Kilmorich belonged to the Abbey of Inchaffrey. Ministry of the united session is recorded from 1601. Part of the parish was removed in 1892 to form the quoad sacra parish of Carrick Castle.
