Lewis presbytery

A higher court of the Church of Scotland. In the synod of Glenelg, it was disjoined from the presbytery of Skye in 1724, and known sometimes as the presbytery of the Long Island or Innis Fada. In 1742 Harris and the islands to the south of it were removed to form the presbytery of Uist.
